Research Festivals
About
We aim to host annual research festivals where we invite researchers (local and from leading universities), professionals, and members of the local community to showcase their work. Work either directly relevant to or concerned with issues in the Chichester area. The festival is segmented into a day event for general presentations and an evening session for short lectures and debates.
2025 Research Festival
Want to learn how the native Oyster project in Emsworth Harbour, once the staple food in the area, is helping to clean the water? Learn about where and how to develop houses in our area? Or the newest green solar farm technology? You can also play interactive games developed by students of the Architectural Association and see their proposals for a sustainable future.
2024 Research Festival
The event brought together students, researchers, and the community for an afternoon of interactive workshops and discussions focused on sustainable solutions for local urban and rural challenges. The Chichester Festival of Research is part of a longer-term initiative to bring together high-level research from universities and companies with the local community, councillors, and planners to allow debates and discussions/ blue sky thinking about the future of the city with the demands put upon it in a rapidly changing world.
